The FAB
Grand Slam Tournament

Rules & Qualifying Information

Thank you to our fantastic sponsors including:

General:

  • Points will be awarded separately for each individual height (Petite, Small, Medium, Intermediate and Large).

  • Qualification points leagues will be available to view on Agility Plaza throughout the season.

  • Points will be awarded to the top 10 dogs in all KC (Combined & Graded) classes and FAB independent steeplechase classes at FAB shows throughout the season (May – September) with 10 points for 1st place, 9 points for 2nd, etc. Points will be awarded up to the 10th dog regardless of where the official class placings go to.  [for Tunnel Exchange Qualifications – see below]

  • If your dog wins into a grade/level in the next bracket during the season you will move up to that league and any points already accumulated will be carried with your dog. Qualification will be based on the grade/level the dog is competing in at the last FAB show in September. (For example, for the standard Agility you start the season at G3, but win up to G4, your dog’s points will transfer to the G4-5 league for qualification and this will be class you would run in if you successfully qualify for the Grand Slam.)

  • Classes at the FAB Grand Slam Tournament in November will run under KC Rules as per schedule.

  • Handlers can qualify more than one dog.

Qualification for Agility and Jumping Finals (See below for petite)

  • Points will be awarded within the grade brackets G1-3, G4-5, and G6-7. Where KC classes at FAB shows are Graded the results for each individual grade (including time/faults) will be combined into an overall table (for grades 1-3, 4-5, & 6-7) with points being awarded to the top 10 combined dogs.

  • Following the last FAB show in September the top dogs and handlers from each combined grade and individual height will be invited to the FAB Grand Slam Tournament as follows:

Agility: The 6 dogs and handlers with the highest points

Jumping: The 8 dogs and handlers with the highest points

Qualification for Petite Agility and Petite Jumping Finals

  • Points will be awarded within the grade brackets G1-4 and G5-7.

  • G1-4 finalists will run the respective agility and jumping G1-3 course at the November Grand Slam Tournament and the G5-7 finalists will run the G6-7 course.

  • Following the last FAB show in September the top dogs and handlers from each combined grade will be invited to the FAB Grand Slam Tournament as follows:

Petite Agility: The 3 dogs and handlers with the highest points

Petite Jumping: The 3 dogs and handlers with the highest points

Qualification for Tunnel Exchange Final

  • The winner and runner-up (for each individual height) of each Tunnel Exchange class held at FAB shows throughout 2023 will qualify for the FAB Grand Slam Tournament.

  • If the 1st or 2nd placed dog/handler has already qualified, the invitation will go to the next unplaced dog and handler.

  • If the original qualifying second handler is not available for the Final a substitute handler is allowed.

Qualification for Steeplechase Final

  • These qualifiers will be held at FAB Independent shows.

  • Points will be awarded to the top 10 dogs in the Newbie and combined Graduate/Senior steeplechase classes as indicated on the schedule.

  • Once points are awarded they will remain with the dog.  If dog wins into a higher level over the course of the shows, the points will continue to be accumulated in the higher level.  Qualification will be based on the level (Newbie, Graduate/Senior) the dog is competing at in the last show in September.

  • Following the last FAB show in September the top dogs and handlers from each individual height will be invited to the FAB Grand Slam Tournament as follows:

Small/Medium/Intermediate/Large: Top 8 Newbie dogs and handlers / Top 6 Graduate/Senior dogs and handlers
